alyseum (new)
To run a whole studio on midi nowadays all the interaction is going thru ethernet cables, switches and hubs much easier, better and faster. To access such a modern communication platform with your analogue synths, older sequencers and/or just the existing products you can now connect them with prepared tools to the copper lan network of your choice. Alyseum will show the first four products to get this done on our stand in 2011.
analogue solutions
Tom Carpenter alias Analogue Solutions from the UK started his business with modifications and his version of a modular system called “Concussor”. The power requirements and sizes are in between fully compatible with the Doepfer A100 System.
Their stand alone syntheiszers and sequencers like the vostok and others are his main presenation on this years frankfurt exhibition. The inventor will be there for two days at least to answer your questions personally.

anyware instruments (new)
Thomas Welsch from Germany/Fischbach is in the business for a long time already, but he mostly sold all his stuff to friends in smaller circles. With his new Tinysizer – a very very small and tiny synthsizer – he is getting back to distributional partnership for hopefully new friends of his famous stuff. The Tinysizer will be probably quite shortly available from stock if “analog-tommy” will come to Frankfurt to show it off.

bubblesound instruments
David Wagenbach´s first module release has been the multifilter SEM20. Then he had to move to new york and for a while nothing happened. Now the uLFO should be the next step in a series of planned module releases from there. We are looking forward to that.

christian guenther
As a creative engineer and artist Christian Guenther formed amazing steel cased synthesizers for himself, that he played on gigs quite often in small bars and clubs, but also on our Tradeshow in Frankfurt once. He is a quite silent friendly guy with a high level of quality in design and sound. He is working totally offline with a good network of artists and handworkers for his casings .. and for his distribution.
cwejman
Wowa Cwejman built his first synthesizer back in 1970. After a long absence, he decided to bring out a new product, which became the high-praised semi-modular S1. This unit along with the S2 established Cwejman in the superior class of synthesizer manufacturers. The modular series is the optimized result of their inventions made with the S1 and S2 units, so You have now more possibilities and individual solutions. Unfortunately there is always a waiting time on such brilliant modules, but being patient could make you happy.

kenton
The british company Kenton is probably the market leader in the area of better Midi/CV-Interfaces. There are hardly any vintage tools which are not ‘Midi’fiable’ with a Kenton interface. In addition a series of superb Midi controller fader boxes has been created some years ago, it is discontinued (since european RoHS) unfortunately. With the Midi stream system, there now appears another unique midi tool to date, in best Kenton quality, the Killamix is the latest step in this tradition.

Mike Brown had to become inventor also for economical reasons when he once wanted to realize musical ideas with not payable synthesizers. After college in germany and studies of electronic music in the USA he tried to realize visions with unorthodox sollutions more often. macbeth
Ken Macbeth-”Since I started, I’ve made about 15 synths — six or seven of them what I would call professional units. I made a modular with a three-oscillator bank, in a 3U rack. On top there was a 4U block with one oscillator, a noise generator, Moog filter and two shapers. The bottom piece was a complex ring modulator, with noise gating, compression, and a control voltage section. A friend of mine has a rack with about 20-24 units of this stuff — I can’t remember exactly how big it is!” The M3X was the first serial product by macbeth studio systems and it has been great. After the Filterbank Moroco the M5 has been probably the first economical success with its size and still good sales, it fits to macbeth and it has been a great idea. The idea of big modules just missed the need of the market and leaded mr. Mecbeth to the production of one of the most comfortable modules in the euro subrack system.

After having made some innovative videotools for a few years he turned back to musical instruments around five years ago: His desktop synthesizers, drummachines and in between also modular components and very well done starter systems became a brilliant addition to all that doepfer compatible expensive stuff coming mostly from the us nowadays. The very latest new product he will be introducing personally on this years superbooth is the multimode VCF, a filter module with some of the prominent circuitries designed by schippmann music. In addition we are proud to see the Urzwerg Pro and some other things showing up to have some fun in Frankfurt with.

motm
Synthesis Technology started in 1996 developing LPC (linear-predicitive coding) speech emulators for Texas Instruments DSP ICs. In 1998, the first MOTM modules were introduced for the hobbiest/kit market. After a review in the March 2001 issue of “Electronic Musician” (still the single highest rating of any hardware product in the last 9 years), demand increased and now 12 years later MOTM is the standard for high-quality modular electronics and sound richness. Synthesis Technology modules have been heard on movie soundtracks (“Watchmen”, “Behind Enemy Lines”), video games (“World of Warcraft, “Unreal 2″, and the upcoming “StarCraft 2″) and television (Nike, LG, Audi, Nickelodean, Cartoon Network, CNN, Fox Sports). The new E Series of Eurorack modules extends the MOTM legacy into the world’s most popular format.

During the past ten years they have been financing their love of electronic instruments by working for these other manufacturers who respect their quality and on-time work. It wasn’t until the year 2000 that the founders could buy their label back from investors. Now they are in full throttle with HDB for pro audio and Vermona for pro synth and effects.
